Pirates Going to Bat for Small Business Award Winner

Bumbleberry Farms was chosen by the Pittsburgh Pirates as the June "Going to Bat for Small Business" winner. They were highlighted at all June games and received a SWEET prize pack with funds to use towards advancing the business.

The Pirates, partnering with PNC Bank, awarded six businesses during the 2024 season for making a positive impact in creating a stronger Pittsburgh community. Bumbleberry Farms was awarded a marketing package worth $100,000 and a $5000 grant to put toward advancing their business because of their impressive work in empowering Deaf individuals through it's hiring and sourcing practices.

Included with their marketing package, the Pirates put together this video highlighting their business.

The Pittsburgh Pirate's Parrot visited the Bumbleberry Farms business to get a close up look at the honey products and working atmosphere in East Liberty. The staff enjoyed their time and photoshoot with the Parrot and sent him away with some free samples.

Jon and the Bumbleberry Farms team were welcomed to PNC Park for a Pirates game in early June where they were recognized on the field. At the end of the season, Jon and the other honorees were highlighted once again during one of the last games of the season, receiving a Going to Bat for Small Business baseball bat.

Pittsburgher's can find their sweet goods in person at area shops and summer farmer's markets in The Strip District at The Terminal.
